Onja recruits youths for a two-and-a-half-year educational pathway to become English-speaking professional software developers. While trained in Madagascar, Onja’s students and developers are at the end of their learning ready to join developer’s teams. After graduating, the Onja students usually work remotely for companies, assisting them with all the strengths and skills obtained during their intensive learning program given by real industry experts. We are most grateful for the work Onja is pursuing, as only 1 in every 20 children reach higher level studies in Madagascar. Tertiary studies are a privilege reserved exclusively for those who can afford it. Many of the most dedicated and talented young people encounter barriers in their career opportunities as a result.

At Close the Gap we have shipped more than 300 computer assets to Madagascar for usage during the Onja curriculum. We wish all participants all the best and good luck during their training!
