Driving change: connecting learners through our Digitruck program.
In today’s digital world, connectivity is more than a convenience—it’s a gateway to opportunities in education, business, and society. Yet, millions remain excluded, widening the digital divide. At Close the Gap, we’re breaking these barriers with our state-of-the-art mobile digital classroom—a fully self-sufficient, solar-powered, and connected learning hub on wheels. Designed to reach even the most remote communities, the Digitruck ensures that no one is left behind in the digital age. Our mission is simple: bridge the gap between opportunity and accessibility, bringing digital empowerment to everyone, everywhere.
Driving change in the most remote areas.
A Digitruck is a 40-foot refurbished shipping container transformed into a fully self-sustainable, state-of-the-art digital classroom with connectivity. Designed to reach even the most remote locations, it bridges the digital divide by providing communities with access to knowledge, opportunities, and essential online services—including social, political, employment, and financial platforms.

Close the Gap oversees project coordination and monitoring across all project stages, including fundraising, operator screening, construction and design coordination. We currently have 15 Digitrucks touring on the ground in Europe and Africa with the support of various partners and sponsors.
The hardware enabling digital learning is provided by us, and consists of the refurbished hardware we offer thanks to the donations we receive from our donating partners. The success of the Digitruck program is further based on valuable partnerships with local partners. They take care of digital skills learning curricula, welcoming young learners into the Digitruck. This local engagement helps participants connect with trainers and helps them to embrace the program as their own.

The Digitruck program demonstrates what is possible when creativity, technology, and determination come together. It is more than just a classroom on wheels; it is a symbol of hope, inclusion, and opportunity. By empowering learning in remote areas, we bridge the digital divide by fostering skills for the future. Our Digitruck program is, therefore, directed at driving positive individual change for those facing barriers to equal digital access.
